Alassane Ouattara is an Ivoirian economist and politician who was elected president of Côte d’Ivoire in the 2010 election, which was disputed and led to a political crisis that persisted into 2011. Ouattara was reelected in 2015, 2020, and 2025, although his bid for a third presidential term in 2020, the legality of which was debated, was controversial.
