Masaccio and Masolino had a loose working relationship and collaborated on such works as the painting Saint Anne, Madonna and Child, Five Angels (c. 1424–25). Both artists painted frescoes for the Brancacci Chapel, Florence, though it is unclear whether they worked together. The frescoes, nonetheless, show their different styles, with Masolino’s figures being dainty, wiry, and elegant, and Masaccio’s being highly dramatic, volumetric, and expansive.
