St. Bernard of Clairvaux performed many miracles. He is said to have performed his first miracle in 1121, when he restored the ability of speech to a relative, which allowed the man to make confession before he died three days later. Bernard also cured many people’s illnesses and banished a pestilence of flies by excommunicating them.
