No one has gone to jail for the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, which resulted in the death of all 298 people on board. In November 2022 a Dutch court found three men—Igor Girkin, Sergey Dubinskiy, and Leonid Kharchenko—guilty of murder and sentenced them to life in prison. However, the men were tried in absentia and have never been apprehended.
