The Boston Strangler was an American serial killer who murdered at least 11 women in the Boston area between 1962 and 1964. Albert DeSalvo confessed to the crimes, and after DNA evidence linked him to one of the victims, authorities concluded that he “most likely” was responsible for the other murders. However, he was never charged with any of the crimes. In 1967 he was convicted of unrelated rapes, and six years later he was murdered in prison. Some believe that the Boston Strangler was actually several killers.
