English author Hilary Mantel is the only woman to win the Booker Prize twice. She first won the award in 2009 for Wolf Hall, the opening installment in a trilogy based on the life of Thomas Cromwell. Three years later Mantel again won the Booker, this time for the second volume in the series, Bring Up the Bodies.
