Manon Rhéaume is a former ice hockey player from Canada who made history in 1992 by becoming the first woman to compete in a National Hockey League (NHL) game when she tended goal for the Tampa Bay Lightning in an exhibition game. She was also the first woman to play in a game for any of the four major North American professional sports leagues.
