Celine Song was born on September 19, 1988, in Seoul. Her mother was an illustrator and a graphic designer, and her father was a filmmaker. Her family moved to Toronto when she was 12 years old. Though she has told interviewers that she always knew writing would be part of her life, she did not pursue playwriting until later, during her time at Queen’s University in Ontario.
