The hijacking of IC-814 was an international hostage crisis that began on December 24, 1999. An Indian Airlines flight, en route from Kathmandu, Nepal, to New Delhi, was seized midair by five armed men. The flight carried about 190 people, including passengers and crew. After being hijacked, the aircraft made stops in Amritsar, India; Lahore, Pakistan; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and Kandahār, Afghanistan.
