Margaret Anderson was an American editor, publisher, and writer known for founding The Little Review, an avant-garde “little magazine” that played a significant role in the Modernist literary movement by publishing experimental and controversial works in the early 20th century. In 1921 the magazine was fined on obscenity charges for serializing James Joyce’s Ulysses.
