Las Posadas is a religious and cultural festival celebrated between December 16 and 24 in Mexico and elsewhere in Latin America, including Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, and in parts of the United States. It commemorates the journey of Joseph and Mary from Nazareth to Bethlehem and their search for shelter before the birth of Jesus, as detailed in the Gospel According to Luke.
