Henry VI, Part 2 is set during the Wars of the Roses, which was a struggle for supremacy between the houses of York and Lancaster. It also depicts Cade’s Rebellion, an uprising led by Jack Cade, who claims to be a kinsman of Richard, duke of York, and is eventually killed after his rebellion is suppressed.
