Ice storms can create numerous hazards. They cause ice buildup on roads, vehicles, structures, trees, and electric power lines. This makes roads and walkways slippery (causing automobile accidents and falling injuries, respectively), breaks tree branches (leading to property damage and crushing injuries), and snaps live power lines (increasing the risk of fire and electrocution).
