Traditional foods for Tu BiShvat include the seven species mentioned in Deuteronomy 8:8 as crops that are found in Israel: wheat, barley, grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives, and dates. Other foods such as carob, nuts, and etrog (a citrus) are also included in various Jewish traditions. In some observances these food items are arranged on a Tu BiShvat seder plate.
