Jamaica Kincaid’s notable works include her breakthrough short story “Girl,” published in The New Yorker in 1978, and her first book of short stories, At the Bottom of the River (1983). Her novels include Annie John (1984), Lucy (1990), and See Now Then (2013), which won an American Book Award. Other works include The Autobiography of My Mother (1996) and Putting Myself Together: Writing 1974– (2025).
