In December 1531 the Virgin Mary (in her manifestation as Our Lady of Guadalupe) appeared to St. Juan Diego four time. During one of these apparitions, she informed him that his uncle, who was sick, would recover from his illness. Juan Diego’s uncle, Juan Bernardino, to whom Mary also appeared on one occasion, was indeed healed by her.
