In 2013, during an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Lance Armstrong admitted to taking performance-enhancing drugs after denying the allegation for years. His admission came after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) had found that Armstrong had used banned substances—including erythropoietin (EPO) and human growth hormone— and that he had undergone blood transfusions and testosterone injections.
