While a different National Christmas Tree goes up near the White House every year, the nation’s Christmas tree remains planted in the ground at Kings Canyon National Park in California. In 1926 President Calvin Coolidge declared the 268-foot-tall sequoia General Grant to be the nation’s Christmas tree.
