BIOGRAPHY

Will Sutton is the son of two HBCU graduates and two educators. His parents met at Dillard University in New Orleans. He's one of six Sutton children. All six went to HBCUs. Sutton graduated from Hampton Institute, now Hampton University. He's been connected to higher education much of his decades-long career, including many years as a member of the University of Maryland College Park Merrill School of Journalism Board of Visitors, a member of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) and he has been on faculty and/or on staff at three universities, including Hampton University and Grambling State University. He's a former president of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). He is a New Orleans-based columnist and editorial writer with The Times-Picayune | The Advocate | NOLA.com.
