The reign of Krishna III (reigned c. 939–968) saw a successful campaign against the Cholas, a matrimonial alliance with the Gangas, and the subjugation of Vengi. Rashtrakuta power declined suddenly, however, after the reign of Indra, and this was fully exploited by the feudatory Taila.
